Mission and History

Our History: The all-girls RoboDoves Team 2528 has been competing in both the FRC and VEX robotics leagues since 2008. In our rookie year, the team was featured in “Gearing Up”, a documentary about FRC robotics. The RoboDoves competed at the VEX World Championship in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Our team is composed of roughly 15 students from all grade levels, 5 mentors, including 3 engineers and 2 teachers. While small in comparison to other teams, our size gives every student the opportunity to be a part of all aspects of the experience. Students build, program, and drive robots competitively. They raise funds, demonstrate robots, and promote robotics in Baltimore City. The RoboDoves are learning how to be leaders in our community.
Our motto is “Drive like a Girl!”

Our Mission: The RoboDoves are young innovators who solve real-world engineering problems through collaboration and teamwork. We build robots, large and small. It is our mission to develop creative, resilient, and self sufficient women who will confidently pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.
The RoboDoves work year round to give back to the Baltimore community through service projects, assemblies, and demonstrations.
